kbas pimp post - Project Sekai
So this one is going to be a mess, and I apologize in advance.
Because, you see, there's A Ton of characters and they are all LOVELY. On top of that this is a game where all the pairings are not canon. Partly because that way every pairing possible is open to interpretation -- hence cashing in on everyone -- and partly because that's not the point of the game.
(but let's be real it's mainly because of the first reason)
Let's start by saying that Project Sekai: Colorful Stage is a rythm game based on vocaloid songs. The characters get summoned to virtual, magical worlds, where there's a version of Miku that relates to them, who is going to help them realize their true feelings.
So if you see that there are a lot of themes revolving about art and music and shows... that's why.
Also a recurring topic? Friends to lovers.
It's not my fault, they just tend to do the very sports anime thing and what am I going to do? Not ship it?
Please.
There are 5 groups in this game, besides the vocaloid singers:
- Leo/need: A group of friends make a band to make music together.
- More More Jump: Three ex-idols and an aspiring idol make an unique idol group, wanting to give hope to everyone that they can reach.
- Vivid Bad Squad: Two duets join forces in order to create a legendary event.
- Wonderlands x Showtime: A group of performers that put on shows on an amusement park stage wanting to bring a smile to everyone's faces.
- Nightcord at 25:00: A group of online acquaintances get together to create songs anonymously on the internet. They meet on discord at night (1am) to do stuff -- surely you'll see the irony on this one.
Every component of these groups is able to travel to the specific group version of the virtual world, and members of the same group often go there together -- but in true magical girl fashion, the existence of said worlds are kept a secret from everyone else (Of course!)
But the fun part of this is that most of them know each other outside of this thing they are doing. They might go to highschool together, or went to middle school together, or might work part time for each other, or are related, but they don't mention this secret world to anyone outside of their specific group.

Since I got into this recently myself, and putting my feelings into words for more than "aren't they super cute?" has been increasingly difficult so instead I am going to give the names of the pairings and link them to a shipping wiki that I found was pretty nice!
